The US-64 project from Asheboro Bypass to east of I-73/I-74/US-220 in Asheboro, NC is a comprehensive, multi-year, multi-phased roadway improvement effort. It involves widening the highway and upgrading key interchanges to improve traffic flow and safety.
Conti is performing this critical construction. Major components include expanded embankments, grading, paving, concrete flatwork, and the installation of new drainage systems, as well as water and sewer utilities. Additionally, the project includes replacing bridges and culverts, rehabilitating two bridges, and constructing noise walls, retaining walls, and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. It will also introduce new traffic signals, highway lighting, and overhead sign structures to enhance roadway functionality and safety
